Mail service configuration completed

Another big thing I have completed today is to configure the email services. By default, all emails sent from our server will be classified as spam, for instance, registration email when users register new account. So technically, users are receiving unsolicited emails, thats unacceptable and it need to be fixed!

So I did some research and found out spf, or TXT record is what Im looking for. It wasnt a easy task I have to say. I will document this and all changes I have made so far tomorrow (It will be a lengthy list for sure)

For now, please do me favor, register an account here and let me know if the email sent as spam or not:

u reckon will we be able to use the vicnet's mail server and problem solved?

Its really up to Vicnet. I think access to vicnet server is very limited. I dont think we even have domain management access (which is stardard for commercial hosting package).

Registration is hidden, but you are still able to register an account here:

Im very much worry about Vicnet support. Now its week 5, we have gone half-way, and we still havent heard from them.

Also, Microsoft just replied to my SenderID request:

"Thank you for writing to the Sender ID Management Team. My name is Isabel and I read that you would like to have your stephenpham.com domain to be added to the Sender ID program. It is a privilege to provide you assistance on your concern.

We have added your domain to the Sender ID program. This may take up to 2 business days to be fully replicated in our systems. If you have any questions regarding this please let me know."

SenderID is MS proprietary algorithm. They always try not to implement standard algorithm, protocol, application...

Let's wait for 2 days and see what happen.

i'm so sorry but i dont get the point of what are you doing, why we need to wait for microsoft and what are we gonna use SenderID for, this fact really concerns me.

SenderID is MS spamming protection system (Gmail and Yahoo use different one). Put it this way, we wait for MS to put the domain into the spamming whitelist of their Hotmail service
